One other highlight to my day

We took our 7th & 8th grade College Readiness kids to the Museum of Science & Industry today. The best part was watching these 7th & 8th grade boys become captivated with watching a chick hatch from an egg. There was something so inherently wholesome about this experience…For a few minutes, these kids weren’t worried about their peers’ opinions or the latest gossip; they were thrilled to watch this new little life begin, and they rooted for this chick to break free from its egg.

But seriously, when we walked to the other end of this exhibit hall, it smelled like fried chicken, and that’s just not right.

Family game night

We had our first ever mentoring family game night tonight. It was for mentors, mentees, and their families to have some fun, social time together. My family participated. (That’s Caleb watching the Mario Kart tourney…)

It seemed to be a well-received event. It just had a sweet spirit to it. I really enjoyed the relationship building that went on.

So my day started with a breakfast for dads and kids at work and ended with this family game night. My heart is really in this family “ministry” stuff…I wonder where this could lead.
